Cyberchick

HELLO, DOT COM!!!

I guess am I am taking over the role of the ever-so-famous Cyberpunk. This one has a twist though, I'm a chick. Yes, that's right a brand spankin' new Cyberchick. So for all you out there who adored the bright-minded D. Kraft, watch out because I am new in the house! I won't start off too crazy here, but remember I am just getting started. No, I won't fill your time up talking about Martha Stewart's home page or J. Crew's excellent winter sale.

In fact I wanted to express my thoughts on what's up in the music world. I truly believe it is our civil right to download whatever they put up there for us. Not all of our downloading is free: take Vitaminic for example, you have to pay for their MP3 music files from independent musicians and labels. Vitaminic is an Italian music delivery Web site by the way. Oh yeah, Europe is making its way to selling music and movies to online audiences.

What's all this about copy protection? If I came home from a store, where I purchased an expensive CD only to find out that it didn't work on my PC. No way is that going to go over. If I want to rip an MP3 file off of the equipment I purchased I think I am pretty darn well entitled to it.

Remember good ol' Napster? Well, it's back. It is just about ready to launch a music subscription service. It faces the problem of regaining customers. Users will supposedly have access to every song with the new subscription service. I have taken a liking to Listen.com, which instead of offering a limited number of downloads, lets users listen to as many songs they want with an unlimited play capacity. I suppose you have heard enough but I will be back with more and If you haven't told a friend about me yet, get going because it just gets better from here

. See ya on the Flipside - JH
