Escapetowisconsin.com
The Wisconsin Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus has revived a familiar slogan for its Web-based directory targeting the leisure traveler: The site is at escapetowisconsin.com.

It directs visitors to 29 member destination Web sites, such as www.packercountry.com, the Packer Country Regional Tourism offense. The site differs from the state Department of Tourism's TravelWisconsin.com by offering a limit on choices, aimed at busy vacationers.

Among the site's promotions: a revival of the familiar green and yellow "Escape to Wisconsin" bumper stickers. They are available at state visitor bureaus.

Appleton-based Athenet adds Milwaukee
Appleton-based Athenet has bought the subscriber base of Phoenix Internet Technologies, a Milwaukee-based Internet service provider. Athenet is a locally-owned ISP covering most of eastern and southern Wisconsin.

Mark Adam, Athenet's president said the move builds on a long-term plan of becoming the largest locally-owned ISP in Wisconsin. The company said it will have 20,000 clients after the Milwaukee acquisition.
