ZyQuest,
Inc. of Green Bay (formerly AZTECH) is offering free computer
classes to the unemployed during March and April. These
classes are targeted specifically to those people who are
currently jobless and have a strong commitment to returning
to the work force.
"Lack
of computer skills has been indicated as one of the most
significant hurdles people face when looking for employment
in our area," said Sandie Le Claire, Director of Education
for ZyQuest. "Most businesses are using computers, which
unfortunately excludes many good people from the work force
just because they haven't had the opportunity to develop
computer skills. We will be offering the basics so people
can develop a good foundation for employment."
The
classes offered are Windows Level I, Word Level I and II,
and Excel Levels I and II.
Classes
presented in half-day segments began March 15, with each
application being held once a week.
ZyQuest
sets the following criteria for enrollment in these special
classes: • Students must be unemployed.
• They
must be strongly motivated towards furthering their education
and returning to the work force.
• They
must be willing to provide feedback to ZyQuest when they
do obtain employment on such things as how instrumental
the training was in helping them obtain their job, what
their position is, and where they are working.
"ZyQuest
has been a part of the Green Bay community since its beginning
as AZTECH in 1995," LeClaire said. "We feel that community
involvement is an important part of any business. We have
a very real commitment to preparing individuals for employment,
as well as helping people expand their careers through technology
education. ZyQuest offers classes in a wide range of computer
software, Microsoft Office, Lotus, Symantec and Seagate
as well as a large variety of technical IT Professional
courses. ZyQuest offers information technology services
including consulting, staffing, custom software development,
network engineering, telecommunications, web hosting, e-commerce
solutions, and software training.
