Clicking with that new car

GreenBayAutos.com allows car shopping without any driving

By Steve Laux

Spring has sprung. This means it is time for many of us to start looking for a change in our transportation. Yes, looking for a car and spring seem to go together. What better time to do it than the weekend? The only problem is if you are like most car shoppers, you like to look at as many lots as possible to find the best deal on that one-of-a-kind car. This takes time. If you plan on visiting every lot in the Green Bay metro area, you can kiss the next few weekends of spring goodbye.

This is not the case if you are lucky enough to have found GreenBayAutos.com. With thousands of autos from area dealers online, GreenBayAutos.com allows you browse through actual in-stock inventories. Their slogan is "If it's on the lot, it's online," and after you visit the site you will know why.

Everyday it seems as if a new national automotive Web site emerges. What most users are finding discouraging is the lack of local autos contained within these sites. It is fine if you find the perfect car, but are you really going to drive to St. Louis to pick it up?

GreenBayAutos.com has solved this problem for the online car browser by offering a site that is nothing but local dealers. Inventories of used autos are online from Bill Boettcher, Brennan Buick, Broadway, Denil Wall, First Chrysler, Gandrud, S&L Motors, Van Boxtel, Van Drisse, and Van's Honda.

Visitors to the Web site are given many choices when searching for used autos. Searches can be made by make, model, year, color, and price range. The search function displays all matching autos from all area dealers. These matching autos are displayed with an actual digital photograph, and informational text such as amenities, make,
model, color, price, miles, VIN number and link to dealer's Web site.

At this point, a visitor can choose to send an e-mail directly to the dealer to inquire more about the vehicle or go directly to that dealer's Web site to search more of their inventory. Each dealer in
GreenBayAutos.com has its own Web site with inventory, maps to the lot, contact information, New Car Showroom, and Specials Page. Some
even have coupons and scheduling for their service departments.

Another feature on GreenBayAutos.com allows users to find an auto dealer within their geographical area by using the Dealer Search.
There is also a page with links to every major auto manufacturer's Web site.

GreenBayAutos.com first hit the greater Green Bay area in the summer of 1999. It is a combined effort of World Wide Wheels of Chicago, IPS
Solutions and The Green Bay News-Chronicle. The idea was to create a site that had actual inventories of the local dealerships online in a
way that made it easy for the public to search for specific autos.

GreenBayAutos.com keeps the inventory on the site current by downloading the complete listings from dealers three times a week. Photos are then taken by IPS Solutions or individual dealers and
uploaded to the site along with vehicle data.

So if you are looking to get behind the wheel of a newer vehicle this spring, go to the beach, hike in the woods, and go fishing. Then, when you have a few minutes, log on to GreenBayAutos.com and find the car of your dreams.
