Margaret Farrow will ring bells for the Salvation Army's annual "red kettle" Christmas campaign today at Cub Foods, 1616 W. Mason. Farrow will be there from 3:30 to 5 p.m. to greet shoppers and encourage people to volunteer for the campaign. Donations to the campaign in the Green Bay area are down more than 40 percent this year. The Salvation Army loses about $50 in donations for every hour a kettle is not staffed by a bell ringer. Businesses and groups not able to donate time can join the "Adopt a Kettle" program, where the groups match whatever funds are dropped in a kettle during a specific time. To volunteer as a bell ringer or to adopt a kettle, call the Salvation Army at 497-7053.
