UWGB to honor Public Service
Wisconsin Public Service Corp. is scheduled to receive the first University of Wisconsin-Green Bay "Regents Partnership Award" during a special ceremony Thursday in Madison.

The Board of Regents created the new award to mark the 30th anniversary of the UW System. Each campus nominates a recipient that has made an extraordinary contribution to the institution and the university system.

WPS was named for its partnership in the environmentally friendly building-integrated photovoltaic technology in the new Mary Ann Cofrin Hall, as well as the Solar Olympics sponsored by the Green Bay-based utility at UWGB for the past 10 years.

The U.S.-flagged ship Kaye Barker was due to arrive in the Port of Green Bay from Toledo, Ohio, at 7 p.m. Monday, carrying 15,500 tons of coal to the C. Reiss Coal Co., 111 W. Mason St.
