Green Bay

Book on West Side due in November
A book chronicling the history of Green Bay's West Side has gone to its publisher for printing and should be available in November.

The book, entitled "Green Bay's West Side: The Fort Howard Neighborhood," includes more than 170 historical photographs dating back to the mid-1800s.

Produced by Gail Ives and On Broadway Inc., the book outlines the history of Green Bay families, historical figures, events and sites in the area. As part of Arcadia Publishing's "Images in America" series, "Green Bay's West Side" is one in a series of books featuring towns worldwide.

After five years of research, Ives attributes the book's completion to volunteers who shared their history.

"This is not my book, this book belongs to those who have told their stories and lent us their family treasures," Ives said in a press release.

The book is expected to debut in early November. To preorder a copy, contact the On Broadway office at 437-2531.
