Three from Green Bay on lottery TV show
Three Green Bay residents will take part in the Wisconsin Lottery's Super Money Game TV show this weekend. They are Beth Thompson, Judy Gosz and Richard Mulloy. The show features 30 contestants who have qualified through scratch-off lottery tickets, with more than $67,000 to be split and one contestant gettting a chance at $100,000.

The show airs at 5 p.m. Saturday on WBAY-TV Channel 2.

Algoma

Swimming advisory issued at Crescent Beach
An advisory urging people not to swim at Algoma's Crescent Beach was issued Thursday after a water sample taken there Wednesday tested above the minimum E. coli bacteria level indicating "poor water quality."

Advisories are issued when the number of E. coli colonies in a 100-milliliter sample is between 235 and 1,000, while a reading greater than 1,000 warrants a beach closure. Wednesday's "fast test" at the Crescent Beach had the "Most Probable Number," or MPN, of 365.4 E. coli bacteria.

Beach advisories and closures remain in effect until two consecutive samples test below 235 E. coli bacteria.

This is the third time this summer the Crescent Beach has been under an advisory or closure. The beach previously was under an advisory from July 22 to July 24, and had been closed to swimming from June 19 through June 23.
