Two days after a West Side gas station was robbed at gunpoint just before closing time, Green Bay police continue their search for a masked man who allegedly threatened to kill the store's female clerk before fleeing on foot.
Lt. Jim Arts of the Green Bay police department said Terry's EZ Go on Mather Street was robbed at about 10 p.m. Sunday. The man barged into the store armed with a rifle and demanded cash from the female store clerk.
Arts said the man ambushed the clerk as she was walking out of a back room and threatened to kill the woman if she didn't comply with his demands. "He said to her twice to get into the bathroom or 'I'm going to kill you.'" Arts said.
The woman followed his instructions and locked herself in the bathroom while the gunman fled the scene on foot with an unspecified amount of cash. As soon as the victim heard the suspect leave, she came out of the bathroom and called 911, Arts said.
He said the gunman was described as a black male, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a dark complexion and medium build. The suspect was last seen wearing a long black coat, with a spandex cap pulled tight over his head and a dark rag with eye holes covering his face. He said the victim noted the suspect's eyes were red and bloodshot during robbery.
Police are asking anyone who might have information about the robbery to contact the Green Bay Police Department's Investigative Division at 448-3325 or Crime Stoppers at 432-7867.
