GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - A day care center where a 1-year-old boy was left sleeping in a crib after workers closed for the night has appealed a state decision to revoke its license.
Owners of the End of the Rainbow Preschool and Daycare had until Saturday to file an appeal or be forced to close under the revocation order from the state Bureau of Regulation and Licensing.
The appeal was filed late Wednesday.
Police said the boy was left alone in a crib when an employee locked up the center Monday night. He was apparently left alone for almost an hour but suffered no ill effects.
The child was retrieved by a day care worker after the boy's grandmother called police saying she could not find him when she went to pick him up.
The state will assign a hearing examiner who will set a date for a hearing on the matter, which probably will not be held before January.
