Several Oldsmobiles and a minivan were stolen last week from the northeast side of the city, Green Bay Police reported last week.
Between Monday and Thursday, five cars were stolen and there were two attempted thefts. Four of the cars stolen were 1989-1994 Oldsmobile Cutlasses and one was a 1996 Caravan. Two attempts were made on a 1990 Cadillac and a 1993 Saturn.
All of the cars have been recovered after being abandoned around the East Side and Allouez, police said.
The cars were stolen from an area surrounded by Clay Street to the west, Berner Street on the north, University Avenue to the south and Elizabeth Street on the east.
In all of the cases, the suspect broke the steering wheel columns in order to start and drive the cars, police said. In only one instance did the thief break into the car.
A suspect seen in two attempts was a Hispanic male in his mid- to late-teens. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 448-3208 or Crimestoppers at 432-7867.
