Raise the roof Friday
Local law enforcement officers will spend this weekend at ShopKo at Bay Park Square Mall, 301 Bay Park Square, welcoming customers to help raise money for the ShopKo Rooftop Torch Run Challenge for Special Olympics. Deputy Steve Gilray from the Kewaunee County Sheriff's department has accepted the challenge to spend from 8 a.m. Friday until 3 p.m. Sunday, or until the goal of $8,000 is raised, sitting atop the roof of ShopKo.

Customers can make a donation to Special Olympics at the store or by calling Deputy Steve Gilray up on the rooftop at 427-5603 at anytime throughout the weekend. Customers also can sign up to win Packer tickets or a $500 ShopKo shopping spree. The donations make it possible for the athletes to compete in nearly 70 different competitions during the year, make friends and show the community all they have to offer.

ShopKo has raised more than $15 million for Special Olympics. For more information about this weekend's event call Mike Lauder, Brown County Sheriff's Department, at 619-1375 or Nicci Giordana, Special Olympics, at 731-1614.
