The Brown County Sheriff’s Department has released a new composite sketch of a suspect in the August abduction and attack in Green Bay in which a woman was assaulted and burned along a rural road in the town of Rockland.
No arrests have been made in the Aug. 19 attack in the 1100 block of Main Street. A 26-year-old woman was at XS Tavern on Main Street when she entered a vehicle, possibly a pickup truck, occupied by two male Hispanics. Investigators believe the woman was taken into the countryside, sexually assaulted, doused with fuel and ignited. The suspects fled the scene.
The sketch released Monday was of the driver of the pickup truck.
The abduction took place between 1:15 and 2 a.m. that Tuesday morning. Police want to talk to anyone who was at the XS, the Speak Easy, Brandy’s or the Paradise Adult Book Store between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m.
The truck is described as an older-model dark, small pickup, with a bench-style front seat and no rear seat. It was a manual transmission and may have a gray stripe down the side and sliding rear window. The bed of the truck was open with no cap or lid.
A $1,000 reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest and conviction. People with information should call Crime Stoppers, 432-7867; Sgt. Chris Amraen, 448-6190 or Sgt. Jim Drootsan, 448-6188.
