Cameron McCain, who has been part of Allouez government since 1979, will not seek re-election as village president next year. That confirms a decision he made after re-election in 2002, he said.
"When elected in 1994, I felt three terms would be enough. A decision by the Central Brown County Water Authority for Lake Michigan water had not been resolved, so I stayed on to finish the job. A decision will be made prior to a new president being elected," McCain said.
McCain, who turns 70 in April, is a former president of the CBCWA and represents Allouez on the group's board.
McCain was first elected to the Allouez Town Board in 1979 and stayed with it when the town became a village in 1986. He became village president in April 1994.
