Tony Theisen and Daniel Aude will run against each other in April in the race for District 4 county supervisor. Theisen won the primary with 615 votes (46 percent) while Aude accumulated 370 (28 percent). Incumbent John Gower, who was appointed to the seat when Jim Schmitt was elected Green Bay mayor last year, lost with 315 votes (24 percent).
"I'm looking forward to representing them if I have the good fortune to win in April," Theisen said of his potential constituents.
He said he started out with a good position and knowledge of the people he is running to represent. For the next leg of the campaign, he will keep talking to people in District 4 , especially as newcomers move into the area. He said he wants to learn their positions on the issues. Theisen, who represents the district on the Green Bay City Council and had been supervisor there for 10 years, said he feels good about his record.
"I feel comfortable with my record and years of experience," he said, adding that his "common sense" approach to the county issues are helping.
Theisen won the primary by 245 votes, but said he will not stop campaigning. "I have until April 6 to meet as many people that I haven't met yet," he said. Aude is a newcomer to running for office. He is an electrician.
