New features for De Pere festival

News-Chronicle

There will be several new features for Celebrate 2004, De Pere's annual Memorial Day-weekend festival.

The festival, which includes name entertainment and a Memorial Day parade, also provides fund-raising opportunities for civic groups.

It takes place May 29-31 at Voyageur Park, with the Memorial Day parade, sponsored by the De Pere Kiwanis, ending at the park.

Among changes this year is the addition of Festival Foods as a sponsor for the Sunday night fireworks, which will be shot from a barge on the Fox River. A "surprise twist" is also promised with the musical acts.

Behind the scenes, some new staff members have been named, with Brenda Gauger named assistant ocordinator and Lisa Koltz director of vendors. The festival has also moved its office to 753 Reid St. at the Brian Van De Hey Insrance office.
