An incumbent on the Howard-Suamico School board has pulled out of the race.
In a letter to The News-Chronicle, Tracy Ruh said he was withdrawing because "it has become more evident in recent months that my personal values are not necessarily in sync with those of the current board and the district office administration."
Ruh said he had decided to run in December because of a concern there would not be any candidates as happened in 2002. He said he was not aware of Dave Haugen's plans to run.
"I have since met Mr. Haugen and believe he is a quality individual who will represent Howard -Suamico very well," he said.
Ruh and Haugen were running for the Suamico seat on the board.
Incumbents Kelli Rose and David Thode are running unopposed for the two Howard seats in the April 6 election.
