Green Bay will hold its second Kids Day on June 25, a day with special events for the 17-and-under crowd.
The first event was held last year at the urging of Mayor Jim Schmitt, who said he held a similar day with his family on the date - six months before Christmas.
But this year, additional activities will tie in with Green Bay's 150th anniversary of being a city, including a band concert at Bay Beach Park with free cake and ice cream and a fireworks show.
Green Bay children can also have a day of free swimming, free rides and a visit from Kyle Petty's race car at Bay Beach Amusement Park; lunch with the mayor, a kids' event at the library, free music, free play at Wild Air Inflatables; a free dental exam and free root beer float.
Wristbands allow children to take part and are free for city residents under 17 at Bay Beach Amusement Park, the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, Colburn and Joannes pools, the Green Bay Parks, Recreation and Forestry office and the mayor's office at City Hall, and city playgrounds. For more information, call the parks department at 448-3365 or visit the city Web site at www.ci.green-bay.wi.us.
