The Central Brown County Water Authority wants to see if Green Bay is interested in a "backup" connection with its new pipeline to Manitowoc after it is completed in 2006.
The authority suggests a connection between Green Bay and authority pipelines could provide a backup system in case of damage to the other party's pipe.
The issue was briefly discussed but dismissed last week by the Green Bay Water Commission, which said it had not received any contact from the CBCWA on the issue. Authority president Roy Simonson said it had approached Green Bay in the past and with its plans now set, it was time to revisit the issue.
The CBCWA signed a contract Tuesday to buy water from Manitowoc with the first water arriving late in 2006 through a $101 million pipeline and distribution system.
