Arketype buys downtown church
Arketype Inc., a display and advertising firm, has purchased Grace Presbyterian Church, Stuart Street and Monroe Avenue. The church, built in 1873 with additions in 1910 and 1929, has not been used by its congregation since September.
The firm plans to spend up to $500,000 to remodel the building, but said it plans to keep the "architectural integrity" and will keep the church's stained-glass windows intact, even lighting them at night.
The building has one occupant, the Green Bay Multicultural Center. Arketype officials plan to meet with leadership of the center. Arketype is located at 126 Pine St.
