More than two-thirds of Luxemburg-Casco's proposed general fund budget revenues for 2004-05 will come from state sources, while the projected percentage to be spent on staff salaries and fringe benefits is even greater, according to a budget summary presented at Monday's annual meeting.
Out of $15,840,200 in projected expenditures, more than $7.77 million, or about 49 percent, would be spent on salaries. Close to $3.4 million, or about 21.5 percent, would cover fringe benefits. But when taking into account salaries and fringe benefits for special education staff, which are listed under "operating transfers," salaries come to 54 percent and fringe benefits are 24 percent of total expenditures.
Out of the district's full-time equivalent of 244.8 staff, 139.5 are teachers. L-C has added the FTE of 2.5 teachers to its staff for 2004-05.
On the revenue side, around $10.8 million, or about 68 percent, of L-C's revenue is projected to come from state sources. Local property taxes of more than $4.56 million, or 28.83 percent, would go toward general fund operations.
With total revenues projected to equal expenditures for 2004-05, the L-C School District's estimated fund balance would be $2,624,944 at the end of the school year.
