Disputes two parties had with the city of Green Bay over the compensation the city offered for easements with the Green Bay Water Utility, which draws water from Lake Michigan, have both been settled out of court.
Harvey and Mary Paplham, E5157 First Road, and Maynard Kuehl of Kuehl Seed Farm, N4297 County E, Kewaunee, both had been scheduled to have their disputes heard Sept. 15 during court trials in Kewaunee County Circuit Court.
However, Sept. 14 letters from assistant city attorney Allison C. Swanson notified the court of a settlement and dismissal of both cases. Swanson said a stipulation and order of the parties agreeing to the settlement would be forthcoming in the "upcoming few days."
Court records indicate the city in May offered Kuehl Seed Farm $1,750 for a "water facility easement" on three parcels of land.
Earlier this year, a town of West Kewaunee couple and the Elm Grove Dairy Farm reached a mutual agreement with the city of Green Bay to drop a lawsuit in Kewaunee County Circuit Court over a dispute involving an easement and property acquisition for the city's water pipeline.
An order issued May 4 by Judge Dennis J. Mleziva dismissed all claims against the city of Green Bay. Attorney William J. Wolske, who represented Larry and Diane Hoffman and the farm, and Allen A. Arntsen, who represented the city, agreed to "fully and finally" resolve the suit without cost to either party.
