An Algoma teenager was pronounced dead at Door County Memorial Hospital following a silo mishap reported Sunday morning at a town of Lincoln farm, said Kewaunee County Sheriff John Cmeyla.
Nathan Bouche, 18, 316 Flora Ave., apparently was overcome by silo gas while working in a silo at the Paul C. Wallace Sr. farm, N9388 County P, around 7:30 a.m., Cmeyla said.
Upon the officers' arrival, Cmeyla said efforts to resuscitate Bouche had been started by a bystander, then officers continued CPR and applied an automatic external defibrillator. Cmeyla said rescue personnel arrived on the scene and continued resuscitation efforts, before transporting Bouche to DCMH, where he was pronounced dead.
Bouche, the son of Tony and Cheryl Bouche, was a senior at Algoma High School. Friends may call at the Schinderle Funeral Home in Algoma from 2-7 p.m. on Wednesday with services to follow at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
