The Tisch Mills Farm Center has been ordered to pay $2,500 in fines and costs for a conviction in Kewaunee County Circuit Court on eight counts of selling adulterated/misbranded feed.
According to the court complaint, an inspection by a state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection specialist revealed that the Tisch Mills Farm Center distributed a prohibited animal protein known as "steamed bone meal," which was contained in custom-mixed poultry feed without being labeled "do not feed to cattle or other ruminants."
The Tisch Mills Farm Center was accused of improperly selling the feed from July 2003 to January.
