County to add drug officer in 2005 News-Chronicle Funding for an additional officer for the Brown County Drug Task Force will be put in the budget for 2005, County Executive Carol Kelso and Sheriff Dennis Kocken announced Thursday. The officer would be the sixth in the unit, which also has two lieutenants. The budget will go to the County Board on Wednesday. Hearings will be held by various committees starting Oct. 25 before the final vote on Nov. 8. Kelso and Kocken said the additional officer would aim at making it more difficult to bring illegal drugs into Brown County, thus preventing crimes associated with drug use and sales.
